On Hello Again.
Hi! Just catching up because I was in a cabin in the woods over the Labor day weekend, but wanted to say "Yay!" and "Welcome!" V. excited to have a fresh crew. :)
@adriana Pupppyyyy!! Look at that crinkly little tongue.
@jazzloon Yay! That is so exciting! Now I can tell you directly that the interracial dating article linked above was super meaningful to me, and I sent it to my boyfriend and we had the 'things that are important to me to clarify before/if we ever have children' talk which was big and scary and totally necessary [neither of us is black, but also neither of us is white, and I'm mixed and he isn't, so it's a conversation that was going to have to happen eventually, but it was reaaaaally nice to have some talking points to get it started]. Also, that last line killed me and is why I am still, perhaps, not ready for kids.
Anyhoo, excited to see where the Hairpin is headed. If there could be more Billfold cross over, I would not complain... For example, everyone should be reading that 'how wizards do money' series; it's a gamechanger.
@heyderpette "I just wanna eat food with people and say HEY GUYS I LOVE YOU FOR BEING HERE!!!" 100% yes.
Yay! That is 100% what this Libra has been waiting to hear. Annnd I've been planning and scrimping and saving to make a big purchase for my art studio, like, major infrastructure investment kinda thing, and I think I'm finally going to do it! Thanks for cheering me own Galactic Rabbit. I totally need some encouragement to go for it now and then.
@DoMark Yay for escaping that job! :)
@Rookie (not the magazine) (not that there's anything wrong with that) p.s. thanks for keeping hope alive via the five things. I like having a chance to reflect on the best parts of the week.
@Rookie (not the magazine) (not that there's anything wrong with that) This week was a roller coaster but there were definitely some good bits:
1. The place I volunteer needed a few extra hands for a cool project, so I got to do something new (that I can hopefully do more of in the future).
2. Re-watching Gentleman's Dignity, re-living the swoons.
3. Halfway though summer classes!
4. Bicycling despite the heat like a warrior.
5. Hmm, am stuck for a fifth thing. But still overall a good, if stressful week.
On OK, Cupid?
@ru_ri Totally, my reading of that sentence (because I also like winter) should've been accompanied by a little sad trombone when I got to the Trojan War part. Still 2/3 of a success deserves some credit.
