On In the Walls

@JessicaLovejoy i always DREAMED of such things. I explored my house SO MANY TIMES as a kid hoping for a find like that. (Not necessarily hoping to find a dead baby per se, but secret forgotten hidey holes with MYSTERIOUS THINGS in them.)

On Loretta Lynn, You Ain't Woman Enough to Take My Man

I'm always surprised when she doesn't look like Sissy Spacek...

On Ask a Clean Person: Fragrant Shoe Season Arrives Early

I had a summer of sandals and stinky feet, and was really surprised when the thing that helped most was...washing my feet. Which sounds like ew you don't wash your FEET???!?!? but really I would get in the shower and wash my hair and and underarms/nether regions, and call it done. I think I figured standing around in the soapy water would suffice. Once I started actually lathering them up the smell was kept in check. Voila! (I'm not the sweatiest person, however.)

On Mental Clay

@MoonBat Surely one would gently hand wash (press down, don't wring!) it in lukewarm water with a gentle detergent. And that physical intimacy can leave protein stains, so try some Oxi-Clean if need be.

On "The future of shop displays"

She looks like a gelfling. Is she a gelfling? DOES SHE HAVE WINGS??

On Lucius, "Go Home"

@kangerine That was my interpretation too! The video and song seem to portray a couple very much in love, but they grow apart and she ultimately leaves him alone, and he is cursed to watch it happen with everyone he knows, without end. The trumpets, the little sad jerky movements, it's right up there with Dumbo for weep-inducing-ness for me.

On Raze the Suburbs

Many smaller towns have downtowns that are virtually useless. Aside from some offices and a few fancy shops with overpriced merchandise, there's nothing to do there, and no one wants to live there because it's not convenient to the grocery stores, SuperWalmarts and shopping malls that are placed out on the edge of town. The city I live in is making great strides to revamp its downtown area and make it an alluring location for young adults and more appealing businesses, and is having a lot of success, but in the smaller town where my parents live, all the nice clean comfortable places to go are out on the edges of the city limits; the downtown is a depressing dump.
