@Piefingers@twitter That's the one I mentioned upthread. It's called Life After Tomorrow and was on Showtime.

@anachronistique I love that NYC is in that version. I love the actress fresh off the bus who sings, "NYC, just got here this morning / Three bucks / Two bags / One me / NYC, I give you fair warning / Up there / In lights / I'll be!"

Also, there's a documentary called Life After Tomorrow that features a bunch of women who were in the Broadway cast in the '80s, including Sarah Jessica Parker, and every single one of those women can still do the "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile" choreography.

On Paying Your Share and When You Can't

@Decca @Emmylou Who I don't mind being the friend who pays a little more some of the time or who will adapt to someone else's budget and just stay in and hang out or whatever, especially for certain people whose friendship I value more than the cost of an activity. But I had a roommate in college once who asked me to "pay [her] back" for a shot of vodka I asked if I could take out of her enormous, full bottle before we went out to a party, which I thought was ridiculously petty. I don't even drink that much and shared my stuff all the time. I never asked her for anything ever again.

On Beauty Q&A: Remember Crystal Gayle?

@S. Elizabeth That's exactly what I did with my baby-faced friend before she started her post-MBA job. I took her to the Bobbi Brown counter and they taught her what to do. Bobbi Brown is great for looking like yourself, but better.

On What Was Up With That Ann Hamilton Thing?

That is exactly how I felt! Instagram picture after picture of everyone on the swing!

There's an apartment a friend of a friend owns in the Financial District that he rents out for parties and it has a swing in it. Whenever I'm there I try to get at the swing before the party gets too crowded.

On Some Incredible Men

I love my dad but he loves to tell me, "That is correct," when I tell him something. And I say, "I know. That's why I said it."

On RIP, David Rakoff

What a lovely story. I'm a big fan of Rakoff's writing, and reading all of the tributes pouring out make me even sadder I never had the opportunity to meet him, because he seems like he was truly remarkable and deeply loved. I am sorry for your loss, and for everyone's.
