Average Barbie looks like she could seriously kick ass and take names. I like that.
I looked at all the maps -- absolutely fascinating. I lived the first 36 years of my life in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area and have been in the Inland Empire (Riverside/San Bernardino) area of California for the past 15 years. While there are more commonalities in speech than I thought between the two areas, I am definitely more Californian now. I'm fine with that. :-)
@renegadeoboe I like the way you think. LW1, mix those more conservative pieces with some fun and funky stuff and create your unique style. That way you get to enjoy the nice clothes you already have and get to buy some new stuff, too -- the best of both worlds, I'd say.
@Lulu22 My friends who own a ranch have chickens that are 10 years old that still lay eggs. They all live heavenly chicken lives wandering around the ranch picking larvae out of horse poo and getting sundry food scraps until they pass away of old age, misadventure, or, rarely, illness. Those are some of the best damn eggs I've ever tasted.
I've never seen The Voice. I think it would frustrate the crap out of me. De'Borah was the only singer mentioned in the article that did anything for me, not just because of her singing, but her genuineness when she was singing. I wanted to like Amanda, especially since Dream On seems to me to be an excellent song to show the full range of one's vocal chops, but I just couldn't make it past the first minute.
Remember to have food supplies for pets as well and include them in your water plans.
I just watched Sunset Boulevard for the first time because of this post. WOW! Fantastic and creepy film. The Hairpin and AHP turns me on to cultural icons again. Many thanks!
I hope Ms. Swift makes songs in this new style AND continues to make songs in her country-touched style. I don't know whether I would go so far as to say I actually like her music, but I find it less obnoxious and more sweetly innocuous that most songs out there.
One of my nieces was born with a very large strawberry mark on her shoulder and it disappeared within a year. I have several little ones that I've had all my 50 years, but they are in privileged spots that only very special people get to see. :-)
I often wake myself up sleeptalking, so I don't really know what I say. Sometimes I wake up to one of my dogs standing above me and looking down with that tilted head puzzled gaze of concern.
