I love the word susurration. That is all.
@C_Webb, @RNL I'm sorry! I wandered off!
I walked into him at a very crowded, very small bar in Winnipeg a couple years ago. He was all leather jacketed and beautiful, and smelled manly and like leather and a little like whiskey. I, um, sniffed him but didn't say anything. Cause I'm awkward like that.
@RNL Yes! all of these things and he smells good!
Blazers and t-shirts are my uniform. I can never find a button down that fits, and a plain t-shirt or thin sweater with some fabulous jewellery or scarf under a blazer is more comfortable than something that doesn't stretch. I prefer to not wear sleeveless under a blazer because the extra layer seems to keep the sweatiness and pit stank down so you don't have to wash or dryclean as often. It's been -30 all week, so i'm packing on the layers for court--wool long-sleeved tshirts are the BEST THING EVER.
I'm in! It's year, oh god, 9 I think. I finally managed to do it last year, despite not starting until the 3rd. Went to a pre-Nano gathering on the 13th (the first time since i moved to the prairies. This group is way less weird than the Nano group in Halifax). I don't spend a lot of time on the forums but I do really like the accountability of the wordcount graph.
I'm writing a trashy lawyer mystery. Because nothing says "productive" like "I'm behind on my wordcount so I'm writing Mountie porn."
Nicole, If you need northern info about Uranium City, holler! I miss the north.
@The Lady of Shalott It's on CBC.ca, maybe people in the States can stream it? Because Lordy. Adam Beach.
Also! Has anyone else been reading Powwow Shades of Grey?
Generally: I think there's a huge difference between pointing out the ridiculousness of having a white actor play an Aboriginal role, and being called down and not "Indian Enough" because you have that opinion. I think she has an incredibly valid point, particularly given the Aboriginal talent who could have been in that role.
...says the white looking Metis...
Also a fantastic band! http://music.cbc.ca/#/artists/Braids
@wilykit Thank you! I love Vince Coleman. I used to live near the Mount Olivet cemetery where he was buried.
@lobsterhug YES! Yes so many times.
@werewolfbarmitzvah I have a theory that may or may not apply to you! Small feet = higher angle for the 4" heels. Which is why I (not quite five feet, size 5 shoes) can't wear the superhigh heels that would make me average height.
