@cuminafterall So true. We have to remember the world he inhabits and the people who inhabit it. He's not speaking about us or even speaking to us.
@alliepants Me too! I'm kind of cute--like a young-ish Jennifer Jason Leigh--from the right, and I'm a MONSTER from the left--like Liza Minelli after a massive stroke. A camera comes at me from the left and I automatically switch positions.
@atipofthehat I agree! Any place you can walk...to cafes, bars, restaurants, parks, museums...is key. I went to Montreal a couple of years ago, because it was close, cheaper the Europe, but felt fresh. I had the BEST time! It's a great city, easy to navigate, really pretty, really fun.
@Steph I wish I could date you--those are exactly my favorite things to do!
@blee Yeah, I identify with it, too. I was SUCH a Lindsay and I had a major Kim Kelley in my life. I LOVE their relationship--the animosity developing into an actually pretty interesting friendship--and just generally everything Kim Kelley. I've always been drawn to girls like that, you know? Kim Kelley should have had her own spinoff!
Damnit. You've reignited my Kim Kelley obsession. There goes the next hour, as I scour the internet for Kim Kelley quotes. Kim Kelley!
Yes! I have such a difficult time expressing why I love this show, yet hate the main character. But also, don't you find yourself identifying with her...not necessarily the way she acts and reacts...but the way she feels? Like, wanting to be better, and not knowing quite how? Knowing your life is messed up, but not exactly what's wrong with it? Trying and failing?
I don't know, maybe it helps to be pushing 40.
@wee_ramekin I just read that letter and came back here to post that exact same thing! Being single can suck, but being in that situation...can't even imagine the pain.
Thank you for your well wishes, right back atcha! It's just a bad day, mostly I enjoy my life, you know?
"I'm in a great relationship with an awesome dude (insert list of awesome qualities) but..."
How about: I haven't had a decent date in two years and I am jealous of your relationship problems. Help me from becoming (even more) bitter.
@jen325 None of us on this site need an article telling us it's nice to spend time away from your partner, to have some independence, to hang out with friends. We know this already. It's called common sense.
