On The Brigitte Bardot Makeover

Jane, will you give me a makeover in return for a million dollars? (A mix of Monopoly money and Life money is acceptable, right?)

On The Brigitte Bardot Makeover

@Carrie Hill Wilner We'll do it for science and the greater good! Not at all for personal gain, nope.

On The Brigitte Bardot Makeover

@Carrie Hill Wilner Surely we can develop a remote controlled robot to facilitate this? Like Jane moves around the controls in LA, and then the robot puts the makeup on your face not-in-LA? If NASA can control Mars robots, then Jane should have a makeover robot.

On The Brigitte Bardot Makeover

@Marzipan The change from this photo to the "after" photo is kind of amazing. But even more amazing/awesome is how lovely both photos are.

On Beauty Q&A: Bullet Bras, Rancid Perfume, and Mascary

@Party Falcon Lash tint. As in, get your eyelashes dyed black. Lasts over a month, looks amazing. Costs $25 at the salon I go to. WORTH TWICE AS MUCH!

On Scandals of Classic Hollywood: Cary Grant's Intimate Bromance

Bringing Up Baby, The Philadelphia Story, and Holiday were all on TCM a couple of nights ago, all in a row. Like a Christmas gift, just for us.

My dearest wish is that we get an entry on Barbara Stanwyck. LOVE HER. If you haven't had the pleasure of her acquaintance yet, Ball of Fire is on TCM tonight. Watch it tonight, then we can all get together and do the "Drum Boogie" on a matchbook thingie.

On Christmasflix of Classic Hollywood: Holiday Inn

@Anne Helen Petersen A boy I knew in college reminded me so much of Jimmy Stewart's character in "A Philadelphia Story" and I still have not gotten over the massive crush I developed on him, lo these many years later. Luckily he lives far away, so my opportunities to embarrass myself are few and far between.

On Christmasflix of Classic Hollywood: Holiday Inn

The youtube clip of Bing singing "White Christmas" encapsulates everything wonderful about this movie. I mean, he RINGS THE BELL ORNAMENTS ON A CHRISTMAS TREE WITH HIS PIPE WHILE PLAYING THE PIANO AND SINGING A MELLOW CHRISTMAS JAM. What more could possibly be said?

Also, I first saw this movie when I was... 11 or 12?... and watched AMC like it was the only channel that existed, back when they only aired old movies like this. I was totally in love with Bing, and it amazed me that his singing voice was so much deeper than his talking voice.

On Friday Bargain Bin: What to Do With Your Allowance This Week

@Ophelia High waisted undies from Hanes. Not the cotton ones, the microfiber or whatever they're called. Low leg cut, high waist, work like a charm under all jersey dresses. Get 'em at Target, and wear cute dresses all summer!
