@raised amongst catalogs oh how lovely! I'm in Ann Arbor, but have hung out in Lansing bunches. What theater in Lansing is it?
@raised amongst catalogs and I want you to! "The important drinking hasn't started yet."
No snow here (SE Michigan) yet, but wind chills in the teens. It's bitter out there. So I'm staying inside and watching Philadelphia Story and Notorious in honor of Cary Grant's birthday. Then I'm going to bundle up and go out for $4 Long Island iced teas with a couple of friends. I will brave the cold for cheap strong drinks
@frigwiggin nothing says "congratulations" like expensive booze. I suggest a very nice champagne, or if she prefers the harder stuff, something like Bulleit Rye or some Laird's Applejack.
Just chiming in to plug the Olay knockoff of the clairsonic. I looooove it and it was made my usually hideous winter skin look fab. Plus it's only about $35. It does have a small brush so it's best just for face and neck. And I never store mine in the shower because I hear they can get really moldy in there
@raised amongst catalogs fun fact about me, Juice Newton was the second album (actual vinyl LP) I ever bought. The first was Quiet Riot.
@charlesbois aw, thank you all! It does suck, but I got a nice severance package and I look at it as an opportunity to go on to better things!
In light of the horrible tragedy today in Connecticut, and the week of horrible things in my state of Michigan, losing my job today doesn't seem as terrible in comparison.
@BattyRabbit but they will last FOREVER! Think of it as an investment. If they last 10 years, you've only spent $12.50 per year!
I say this because I have some and I love them, even if they are not so great for my plantar fasciitis.
@leon s oh thanks! I had never heard of the High Lonesome Sound. Listening now. And I agree that people who say they listen to everything except country and rap are missing out. In reality, they probably listen to Top 40, and call it "everything."
