On Faking Orgasms for Fun (?) and Profit

@hallelujah Seconded - that totally works. I faked it for a few years b/c I wasn't sure how else to communicate "nope, not happening tonight". then I got older and realized that "not happening" could also sometimes mean "just want to do different stuff/do it differently". I just started saying "ooh, it would be really hot if tonight we did this instead" or something along those lines, while gradually changing up the routine. I think a lot of guys WELCOME changes to the routine, so it's all to the good.

On Once Upon a Time Everyone Had Kids

@planforamiracle Dude, wait till you're 31 and STILL not sure. You'll feel like your eggs come out in a puff of dust and cobwebs every month.

On The Dropped-Ball Generation

@Better to Eat You With Yes! I often think this is the outcome of our "personal responsibility" society, where if something bad ever happens, everyone is so quick to pile on and list all the ways it's YOUR FAULT and you SHOULD HAVE KNOWN and blah blah. If you don't take 43 extracurricular, you'll never get in to college! If you get a C on a paper, you'll never get into college! Kids are dealing with a lot more pressure to never, ever fuck up, and it feels like the world is a lot less forgiving of mistakes as the income gap grows in the US.

On The Dropped-Ball Generation

@area@twitter Be exactly like them (or how they remember themselves as being, which is likely very different from reality). Or be Lena Dunham - they seem to REALLY love her.

On Getting Away With Hating It

On Depression, Mothers-in-Law, Friendzones

@siniichulok What is it with the guys who want to move their crazy mother in for the baby?? It's like a weird blind spot idontgetitatall. Same here- like objectively, he knows his mother is crazy and has said many times that she's why he lives 900 miles away in NYC, but he still thinks it would be a good idea...?

Sorry to hear about the abuse when you lived with there - that sounds awful. I'm glad she's at least being nice over skype :) Sounds like you've established a healthy distance, which is really important and not super easy to do.

On Depression, Mothers-in-Law, Friendzones

@gobblegirl Ok ok, sorry! Didn't mean to beat a dead horse - also not sure what comment you're replying to. :(

If I came off as patronizing though, I apologize - I have a lot of FEELINGS on the subject so I sort of go on about it.
