God, I love Yoko. Sarah Lawrence girls represent!
Also, sigh, I miss New York. A lot more than I thought I would when I had the big "you mean our baby could have its own room somewhere else?" epiphany. Double sigh.
I have an opal engagement ring! Go for it, gurl.
But they are delicate, I don't wear mine on the daily (I did during my engagement but now I just wear it for special occasions).
YOU CAN PRY MY SUN TEA FROM MY COLD, REFRESHED, DEAD HANDS. No one I know has ever gotten sick from it. Although since I have been pregnant, I won't drink it. So I guess I'm a hypocrite?
and Re the iced coffee, this is something I constantly struggle with. Growing up my mom always kept a big pitcher of cold-brewed concentrate in the fridge and it was/is delicious and way cheap. However, I will usually go down to the coffee place and buy said $5 coffee for two reasons-
one, it's a social activity/a reason to get out of the house and take a walk and interact with other humans. And two, if I have that much delicious iced coffee in the house I will drink it ALL AT ONCE and then I will die. So it's a HEALTH ISSUE really, mental as well as physical. That is worth my $5.
@discombobulated Yay Duck! Except I actually hate Duck Donuts. But still yay in theory!
@formergr @smidge My friends and I waited in line for 1.5 hours at Hot Doug's. I REGRET NOTHING.
Venice is so beautiful and magical and and melancholy and kind of gross (literally because it either is a million degrees and smelly or negative a million degrees and icy and about the chilliest place on earth, and because it's jammed with tourists).
Also, they have the worst food in Italy. Other Italians all make fun of them for it. In my experience, it's mostly true.
HOWEVER, when I lived in Italy, my friend and I went during Carnevale and rented a semi-crumbling apartment in one of the further-flung Sestieri and it was AMAZING (beautiful/melancholy).
This post is sounding way more snooty than I mean it to be. Everyone should experience Venice. It truly is magical/sinking.
The main thing I took from this article is...people wear jewelery in the shower? That is a thing people do?
@par_parenthese *quietly raises hand*
I totes did! Although some of it might have been my innate need to be a pretentious contrarian.
XLBs are basically my reason for living.
