But my all-time favorite is that people did this or did that, in that order, in "the" symposium (= party). Because, logo, if you go drink with your Greeks, how can you not be governed by the most stereotypical literary presentations of your Greeks?

Hahahahahahaha There were these people called ancient Greeks who for several centuries all thought or did some absurd thing, and we know this because a poet or essayist at one point said so Hahahahahahaha Oh my merciful God save me from these classicists who have to publish something and get a better job.
