On Kids: Worth It? and Game Day Etiquette
While I absolutely agree that, while on a 3-4 day vacation, a few hours isn't that big of a deal and quite necessary for mental stability, what I'm reading is that the game, or a game, might fall during the actual Thanksgiving meal. Granted, my family full of olds eats really early, so that might be projecting.
I don't think it's okay to blow off the actual Thanksgiving dinner to sit in front of the television, no matter which game it is. And for full disclosure purposes, I am a football nerd. I would have been totally aggravated if I had to do family stuff during the LSU - Alabama game. It's a tough spot to be in.

On The Best Time I Met My Birthmother
This is amazing and wonderful.
Adoptee hugs all around.
I've always wanted to look like someone, even though I hate admitting it.

On PDAs and the Lure of the Work Crush
I can't turn it off, but when I want to wean myself off a work-crush I have to focus, Seinfeld-style, on one thing about them I don't like. The last dude didn't appreciate my sense of humor, and that is a deal-breaker, even if I was single. Now I look at him and wonder how I found him attractive.
This only works if there is something not-awesome about the crushee. If they have no non-awesome qualities, I run fast and far away, or hide under my desk.

On Amusingly Horrible Things Bosses Have Said: The Bracket
@cocokins I agree, lots of higher-ups don't think. We have so much anecdotal evidence to prove it! But I'm the receptionist...so maybe only the people in the middle are allowed to think and/or care?
What's with people and their inability to read(and write) emails properly?

@whatsherface I got that a lot when I was in the theatre. It's...confusing. And sad.

On Beauty Q&A: Makeup Brushes and the Pains of Being Appropriately Layered
@lafleur I like to use a kabuki brush to apply my compact powder. It might make the powder go on a bit less dense that way.
Otherwise, I'd stick with the Maybelliene if it makes you happy.
