On Two Photo Sets: Detroit's Urban Gardeners and Meth-Laced Appalachia

@hallelujah Right? Indian Village makes me swoon.

The wedding picture gave me the heebies. Ugh.

On Every Meal Almanzo Eats in Laura Ingalls Wilder's Farmer Boy

@editrickster @Fear Biter I have found my people- Betsy-Tacy AND All-of-a-Kind Family are among my favorite books ever! I've had onion sandwiches at the Betsy-Tacy convention, and they're amazing.
Also, I think when I was a kid, I tried out Charlotte and Gertie's crackers-and-candy in bed game.

On Camp No iPhone

@Heat Signature I just went to grown-up improv camp this year for the first time! It was absolutely gorgeous (Cambria, CA) and I got to do loads of camp activities in addition to improv stuff... I'm a grown-ass woman who flew home on a plane with the birdhouse I painted in arts and crafts ("Or as I like to call it, arts and farts and crafts")

On The AARP Pie

When I realized today that one of the other interns at my new job is the same age as the 5th graders I student taught, and the other one could be my kid.

On The Friday Night Pie

@Hellcat Oh GOD I spent too many years being the supportive GF at gigs who always ended up driving home because dude would always agree to drink responsibly, and then not do that.

On Conversations With Old Men

@DianaPrince My 83 year old grandma told me the Kardashians were pretty girls but trashy because they don't wear underpants.

On Chicago: Hot or Not?

@The Lady of Shalott The ruin porn is insane. My dude saw an event invite that met at Oakland Mall to take a bus down and photograph all the ruins. Ugh.

On Chicago: Hot or Not?

@titsgrande Detroit is great! I second the suggestion for the Henry Ford Museum- it's attached to Greenfield Village, which is an outdoor historical museum with all sorts of famous residences.
The Detroit Institute of Arts is also sublime, and there are tons of great restaurants around.
