@Rosebudddd Haha, your advice is way more useful. I've just never advice like "you control your attitudes/reactions!) from people who were trying to tell me that my feelings were valid. It was always from people who wanted me to stop talking or complaining about something.

@kangerine Exactly! "You control your reactions/nobody can make you feel bad without your permission" is one of those things that sounds way nicer than what it actually means, which is "it's your fault if you react badly to bad stimuli." Anxiety and depression and how they make you react are totally uncontrollable, and even if you're fairly unafflicted by emotional problems, it's still kind of crappy to say "Oh, hey, somebody/something is provoking/distressing you, but you have to take the high road! Be the bigger person! Turn that frown upside-down!" NOPE.

Oh my god, I'm so bitter today, and my reaction to all of this advice is slowly lifting my middle fingers and yelling SCREW YOU GRAMPS, I HAVE A SHITTY RETAIL JOB, ANGER MANAGEMENT ISSUES, AND MY MOM DIED YOUNG SO I PROBABLY WON'T GET OLD ANYWAY.
I always want to take this kind of advice to heart, but I never can, especially since all the old people I know are poor and mean like me.

They make me feel weird in many parts of my body. I like this video ("like(????)" I guess), but the video for Evil Boy still edges ahead for me, just on merit of having a million dicks and foxy foxy Diplo in it.
