@dtowngirl

"Blind to gender" is BusinessWoman-speak for "I just have always got along better with boys." (hair flip)

The speaker usually follows up by saying she doesn't believe she has personally encountered any sexism, ever.

So, Hairpin. About 100 days ago, I donated some stem cells to my dad to combat his stage-4 lymphoma. Since then, we've just been waiting to see how things would go. Well, the 100 Day Later scans show no evidence of cancer in his marrow, nor in the rest of his body.

My dad is coming home cancer free.

@lasso tabasco
I'm just going to say it: the actors playing Jon Snow and Robb Stark should switch parts, Richard Madden 4eva.

FUCK YEAH SERENDIPITY UPDATE:

The interview that went awesomely last week was followed by an assessment test I did last weekend. It involved numerical logic. I flashbacked to high school and college and the math anxiety reared it's head. BUT I GOT THROUGH IT. And I have the final interview next Thursday.

I am trying not to dance at work.

@Pygmalion My one Solid Interview Trick is to never answer a question immediately. Listen to make sure they've asked the whole entire question, pause *a one and a two and a three and a* and then start talking. Makes you appear calm and thoughtful and like you're not just givin them a rehearsed answer (even when you are, in fact, giving a rehearsed answer!).

Oh, also, make sure you're not playing with your hair. I pull mine back and out of my face/pin back bangs/everything. (Playing with your hair makes you look nervous/insecure.)

Anyways, I am sure this would just be the icing on the cake of your badassery, but those two things always make positive impressions.

Last night I had a casual date with a guy from OKC except he flaked out last minute so I went to my favorite bar to drink wine alone and stare at people. I ended up meeting this guy that had been on a terrible internet date himself. We started talking and drinking copious amounts of alcohol, really hitting it off and such. We head over to his place, hang out with one of his roommates, drink Bulliet bourbon and his land lady yelled at us for talking too loud. Cool kid stuff. For some reason drunk me got all weepy about the persecution of muslim women, and Iranian policy, and as we got more drunk his accent got thicker (Russian, and you couldn't hear it when we first started talking) and he started talking nonsense with me about foreign policy. It was a weird and wonderful night.

But then i was hung over all of today (Seriously till 5pm). We're going to hang out again tomorrow!

@Inspector Tiger I went to a show alone nearly four years ago and met a great friend there, so: go!
