@I'm Right on Top of that, Rose Yeah, given her track record, this must be earnest on her part, not trolling. "Fuck off!" was my instant reaction as well. Take your idiotic puns, your victim-blaming, your slut-shaming and your tone deaf advice and fuck off on outta here, Prudie.
@SarahP Why do you think there's a little more pressure in the queer community to remain friends with exes? Just curious.
I don't feel like there's pressure to do this in the straight "community" (heh), but that there is some glorification of people who can and do stay friends with their exes. They're so carefree and open! Gosh they were just such good friends and they handled the breakup so diplomatically! So mature! Whereas those of us who like to brood, talk shit, cry and wallow are somehow less-than. I like the idea of staying friends with my exes, but in practice it just isn't that fun to go get coffee with someone who broke your heart.
What if a car pulled up and you heard "Need a ride?" and it was Prince, smiling slyly with one raised eyebrow? Oh my goodness.
Congratulations. How punderful.
@aphrabean Purslane is so delicious! I like to make a little stir-fry of purslane, sweet corn, finely diced red bell pepper and jalapenos. Serve with a big fat steak or any old thing.
@Amphora I saw that play last week too! A friend's co-worker is the playwright. The Henry James-Edith Wharton relationship was particularly delightful.
@stuffisthings I think it's just called Fortune now.
Edith, your foodstuffs-based humor never fails to delight!
@kellyography I'm from Chicago (West Rogers Park), still live here, and do not think you need a car. But, as others have said, it depends on your neighborhood. I live a couple blocks from the train and will cough up cab fare when needed.
And I'm also a total asshole about people from the burbs who say they're from Chicago. I'm not going to judge you for being from Schaumburg - but I will judge you for lying!
@collier Oh my God, the Cotton Country Collection! My mom used to cook from this book so much, still does. One of my faves.
