On Boston Pinners and Non-Pinners, Be Safe

Does anyone have any good links to articles/ maybe book recommendations for trying to figure out all these feelings? I've never cried at a tragedy before really, but maybe being in Boston and having to send texts/emails to all my friends makes it so much more real. The thought catalog had some good articles, but I guess maybe everyone is still reeling?

On Vodka Squirt vs. Vodka Diet Squirt

Youguys, the "squirts" is the tastiest drink. It's GRAPEFRUIT soda. Only those who go to Publix are in the know I guess. It also leads to some hilarious sayings from my grandma, like " us girls sure do love our squirts."

On Horrible Things That Have Happened to Doctors on "Grey's Anatomy" Since 2005

Thank you for validating my decision to stop watching this show in 2007.

On Friday Bargain Bin: Screw It

@cuminafterall You should definitely get those, the pale colors and the browns make a great neutral eye for blues, and the grey would be great for nighttime.

On An Interview With Jessica Valenti

This interview was so great; I just put my hold in for this book at the library! Thanks for the shout out to people who aren't 100% into the idea of having kids. I heard an interview with Jessica on NPR and the point that I identify with the most is the fact that unlike any other time in history, children are being born only for the parents benefit (i.e not for farming or marrying etc). This brings with it a whole slew of problems with women being unsure why they aren't finding self fulfillment. So much food for thought- thanks!

On Friday Open Thread

So, thanks to Ask a Married Dude I can now apply the term "bed death" to my situation. What makes it even worse is that we both work from home (him only occasionally) and we don't have any money to go out and I don't know anyone in this town :( It's been like this for a year and ughhhhh.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a reasonable solution??

On New Music From Beach Coast and Best House

No! No confusion! Beach House is so dreamy and well put together, and Best Coast just sounds terrible now that they put away their voice distorter.

On Amusingly Horrible Things I Have Said: The Bracket

My friend and I are looking at our facebooks, making fun of all the dumb photos of people and this slips out of my mouth "none of my friends are as trashy as yours"..... Needless to say she was pissed for some time.
