@catfoodandhairnets It is! I'm sure if I happened to fall into having a child, I'd fall in love with the baby and adjust to motherhood just like everyone else does. But not having a baby doesn't make me any less of a person or a woman.
@catfoodandhairnets Ah, it's so good to hear this perspective! I am 90% sure I don't want to have babies and I feel such weird guilt about it. I actually think I'm 100% sure, but that guilt makes me pretend that I'm still considering it...
Fun fact: My cat is named Tricker Treat for the way Bradbury described kids trick-or-treating in, I think, The Halloween Tree? She mostly goes by Tricker.
@Bolero I have an MLS and have primarily worked in archives, which is my first love...but now I'm making a pretty comfy living as a records manager type. I still get to keep a toe in the historical records, and I bought a house! Flexibility seems to be the key.
@Rrrowena I'm with you! A friend bought a bottle to my place New Year's Eve and I find it way too sweet and maybe even a little chemically? Maybe I have a weird allergy too it or something, but I just kept slipping it in my husband's drinks until it disappeared.
The only time I've ever laughed out loud alone in a department store dressing room was the time I tried on a pair of skinny jeans.
@sox Me too! Generally, cookie recipes are pretty safe reading...
@werewolfbarmitzvah Weirdly, thanks to my husband's social butterfly status, I have become one of those people who is always flitting from party to game night to movie night to dinner. BUT I don't have a best friend or even anyone local who I'd really call a truly close friend, and I'd much rather have that. There is enough insecurity to go around, it seems!
@gfrancie Me too! They probably just didn't know where to begin...
@Anne I wish Expos were still around! I don't know why I feel like that would improve my life, but somehow it would.
