By Blackwatch Plaid on The Best Worst Movie

My first date with my boyfriend involved watching Troll 2. When it was over, he turned to me and said "wanna make out?" The rest is history.

In a troll-related vein, I want non-ironically recommend the movie "Trollhunter." It is streaming on Netflix right now and absolutely amazing. If you've ever wanted to hear pretty frank discussions about troll behavior, this is the movie for you.

@nina Is it bad that I would date the hell out of someone who answered a date request like this? As if they were in Victorian London and came with a chaperone?

Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me Sooner, for 1,000,000,000: We're not grading on a curve here – “better than anyone I've dated in the past” does not round up to “good enough.” It's not good enough unless it's fucking awesome.

I was going to say some things about female friendship but then realized that it can all be summed up by saying "Watch Parks and Recreation."

I am so so glad this article was written because I was determined to make everyone discuss the Eurovision in the Open Thread if it hadn't already been brought up!

Lest we forget, Ireland have won it more times than any other country (the one European area we can excel at!) and without Eurovision, there would be no Riverdance.

@ohyeahmetoo yeah, that's what felt icky to me too. for some reason, even though she never said it, i kept getting echoes of "all my friends are guys because I just don't get along with girls" in my head as I was reading this.

Also: married dude telling you that you have lovely eyes? ew.

i think maybe...the unsaid part of this article that kind of puts me off is the implication that the ideal best friend must be a dude. don't get me wrong, most of my best friends have been male, but the older i get the more i appreciate my female friends.

otherwise, i think she's right to pursue this particular friendship since it seems to be working for her and the married guy. sometimes all the factors are in place which make something like that work out.
