I knew that reading the comments would cause a hundred thousand terrible songs to all get stuck in my head at once, and yet here we are.

Hey, soul uptown girl on the long and winding road that I used to know!

@Faintly Macabre I probably would have loved Train if I were 11-12 years old then, too. Instead I loved Duran Duran and Wham!

LW4, you need to back off. The last thing someone needs when both their romantic and family relationships are unhappy is a "friend" who's going to pile on the romantic drama. If you can continue to hang out with her in groups and support her doing what she needs to do to fix her romantic situation, absolutely do that. If you can't, do your best to make sure she has the support she needs without relying on you, because you've got ulterior motives and it's not fair to her.

@RoyRogersMcFreely Ugh, that's exactly what my ex husband thought I was. And when I stopped fulfilling his fantasies and wishes he went elsewhere. It's a dangerous dynamic.

1964 = RIGHT.

Tell me they didn't change the illustrations in the text itself, because I WILL FIND THEM AND CUT THEM. (The changers, not the illustrations.)

@JessicaLovejoy I'm picturing one of those "how to hide healthy food in baked goods" cookbooks, only the masked item is resentment.

Everything I just read has only confirmed all of the things I assume about white people with dreads.

@Mira ~~~~~^~~~~~~

I would bet my savings account that these people aren't going to vaccinate that kid and enjoy making jokes about baby formula.

Jesus fucking Christ on a goddamn cracker, I cannot even with this shit. Women should absolutely have control over their birthing experience, but the shit is SERIOUS. I hope the millions and millions of women who've died in childbirth haunt these narcissistic idiots for the rest of their days.

@hallelujah When you only saw one set of footprints, that is when Benedict Cumberbatch carried us both in his arms.
