@sox Yeah, I mean, my first instinct is to be like "HOW MANY FUCKING PARTIES DO YOU NEED TO VALIDATE YOUR FUCKING LIFE CHOICES?" But then I think about how if one of my friends were having a baby I would be stoked to hang out with her and eat cake, even if the frame of the event is a little silly.
As with so much in modern life, it's narcissistic and stupid when internet strangers are doing it, and charming (and ironic?) when one's friends are doing it. I'm cool with that.
