UGH. Why are all the pretty flowers toxic to pets? Just looked this on up on ASPCA; looks like a no-go for cats/dogs.
Used to do menstrual-type activism during a more radical period of my life and basically PANIC is the enemy of getting those things out. You really have to relax and "BEAR DOWN," as they say. I also used the Keeper back in the day, which was the wooden-bicycle-wheel version of the Divacup and made of ACTUAL TREE RUBBER rather than silicone.
@dormilona A-MEN. Seriously all time favorite of all life.
Personally, I think the stereotype tends toward queer-identified folks (esp ladies? but dudes I know also fit this mold?)staying bffs with exes, friends of exes, just bc the dating pool is supposedly smaller. I've found this to hold pretty true in my real life, but I'm just a small sample population.
@Lyesmith Just logged in to suggest Disgrace also.
WE Objects Also have These Feelings! But maybe we're socialized not to express them?
Also this describes every relationship I've ever had with pre-totally-Out ladies.
Dream life would be to live in a house with all of these romance/friend-mance objects and they'd totally get along but in a hilarious and adorable way. I think 90s sitcoms have ruined me for Real Life.
@dtowngirl I too have this paranoia - maybe our letters both got lost and are now hanging out together somewhere in the postal system.
Queer chick, you are awesome. As a queer daughter of an awesome lez-bian (she prefers that term) mom, I would also like to suggest the possibility that ANGRY SISTER is dealing with maybe some sexuality issues of her own? My mom came out to me when I was THIRTEEN, even though we were also of the hippy/lefty ilk and I had my suspicions, it made coming to terms with my own queer identity a little bit tough.
p.s. I just wanted to second/third/fourth the term Umfriend; sometimes you do have to Un-friend an Um-Friend to make room for less vague relationships though.
