On Gillian Flynn To Write a Novel Reimagining Hamlet

Ooh, if this series turns out as well as the Canongate Myth series, I'll be very happy.

On Book Cover Battles, U.S. vs U.K.

@ocello That's about me! I've read "Life After Life" as well, and just finished "The Goldfinch" yesterday, and read "Eleanor and Park" - that one was a bonus, definitely didn't think that would be in the Tournament. Good to hear about "The Luminaries" - I got that one for Christmas and didn't want to jump back into another 800 page book... but maybe I can get through it! I just got "How to get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia" from the library, it's like 200 pages if you're looking for a quick one :)

On Book Cover Battles, U.S. vs U.K.

And now you reminded me that The Flamethrowers isn't in the Tournament and I'm sad all over again! That means I've only read 3 books in the Tournament... good lord. Time to start reading.

On A Tribute to Top of the Lake's Robin Griffin, Made of China and Steel

Top of the Lake is not streaming on Netflix if you are in Canada, unfortunately. I basically check weekly, I've really been wanting to see it!

On Olives - It's What's For Dinner

Man, I wish I could have olives for dinner. I wish my school cafeteria had olives. It is actually impossible for me to walk past an olive bar in the grocery store and not get olives. I've never thought about where the olives are coming from, though, unless I'm in a fancy cheese store and they're labeled.

These are my thoughts on olives.

On Is Snooze the Enemy?

@avidbiologist That is exactly what I do - up to and including getting ready in 11 minutes. I feel like, once I press snooze once in the morning, and realize I'm not late and I can get ready in less time, I just can't get up right away. My body knows that I'll just be doing something like, eating breakfast and not sleeping, and I subconsciously hit snooze until when I _need_ to be up.

On A Brief History of Getting Yelled At

Ugh, I'm feeling that indignation/guilt feeling right now just thinking about it. Also, when I read the gross film part, I read it as seeing a gross film of being yelled at all day too - like, in my head, just seeing it happening over and over. Yuck!

On This Wedding Season, Say Yes to Strangers: What I Learned From My Craigslist Date

@antarcticastartshere Maybe he wasn't a LARPing wizard at all, but just a guy wearing some halfway evil costume? Like... half a dalmatian fur coat? A dalmatian vest? I can't think of any evil costumes except for Cruella De Vil's, I guess.
