@good havens I think it can be a bad investment if it puts you in a bad financial situation. I don't know much about the teaching profession, but could you try the HS thing for a few years first and then revisit whether it's worth making the investment in an MA?

@parallel-lines My PT did not do shots or meds - she recommended quitting running first, and that worked (mostly). I'm sorry that wasn't the case for you!

And I had never thought about the IUD plus MRI situation. My god. I will just pray never to need an MRI. Can't they make IUDs out of non-ferrous metal? Ughghhghghh.

If I win the lottery tonight I'll pay for a solution to both of these problems.

@parallel-lines Terrible! I went to a physical therapist for this, and she gave me all these exercises and foam-rolling things(which are simple and you can google them). The foam-rolling seemed to help a little bit. But do you run? Because what (mostly) solved it for me was quitting running.

On Beauty Q&A: Too Many Choices

Oxfords! I'm also tall, and I avoided oxfords forever because of my irrational fear of looking mannish. But I recently went for it, and I love them! They're like Katharine Hepburn-sexy, which I can rock without feeling awkward.
Here's a cute pair that is out of LW's budget range (ugh, sorry), but just to convey the style: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/everybody-bardino-oxford/3249475?origin=category&resultback=500

On How the Internet Changed Solo Travel

Maybe this advice does not apply to other people, but I find that it's important for me to avoid getting too introspective when I'm traveling alone. All that time to think, combined with a change of perspective... it is wonderful and can be super refreshing, but there have been a few times where I dove too deep into contemplation of the world/myself/my life situation, and ended up weeping in various West African airports.

On Friday Bargain Bin: What to Do With Your Allowance This Week

I am wearing that striped sweatshirt right now! I love it! Fair warning though - if you are at all tall, the sleeves come to just below the elbow, not just above the wrist as the photo suggests. Anyway, now I feel awesome for sharing Jane's taste in sweatshirts.
