@AlanHanson Did you mean "k" as in k, or "k" as in "You can do no wrong. You are a goddess, and I, your slave"? Inquiring minds.
Cool it with the defensive replies to comments, dude. It doesn't make you look good.
@Tuna Surprise Aaa nevermind, ignore me! I'm not even new here, I don't know why I thought that wouldn't be a joke. Eeembarrassing.
@Tuna Surprise Ok the more I read it, the more I see you're making a joke, duh! ...Or are you?? Aaa I'm sorry. But please confirm!
@Tuna Surprise Whaaa? Am I not reading the sarcasm, or do you really mean to say that a 16-year-old who doesn't want to be in an orgy with people she feels uncomfortable with (or anyone!) is chickenshit? And that that's a bad thing??
@Judith Slutler Just watched the trailer, seems lovely. Sadly not on Netflix :/ but I added it to my IMDb watchlist. Thank you!
@Jolly Farton P.S. Not to say that I'm not looking up all your suggestions! At first I thought no for the space/nature documentaries, mostly due to this stupid, stupid article in The Atlantic that only added to my worries, but now I think they would do me good, as well! Googling/Netflixing all these right now.
@Jinxie Haha thank you. Just think I ought to be living up to the name, and be spreading jolliness! I am living up to the second part, however.
Hi all, thank you for all your responses! It's certainly reassuring at least to know I'm not the only one who feels this way, sometimes (though I suppose for me it's been more concentrated in the recent months, and never really before).
Arf, I wrote out a long depressing spiel of a thing, but rather than bring you all down, just to get to the crux of it - can you recommend movies where people lead pretty mundane, even small, lives, but are very content and fulfilled in them (at least ultimately so)? Or where people endure hardships but come out of them better for having gone through them. Should've been more specific from the beginning - though, again, I definitely appreciate the responses you have given!
And yes, I probably need therapy more than I need movies... but here we are.
@Jolly Farton I should probably change my username.
Pinners, what is a good movie to watch when you feel like "what is the point of living" even though things are going pretty okay in your life?
