On Internet Work and Invisible Labor: An Interview With the Fug Girls

Dude, AHP - way to bury the lede:

"we’re writing an adult novel at the moment, The Royal We, which is very very loosely based on Kate Middleton"

On Olives - It's What's For Dinner

The Sac Bee! My first journalism internship was at the Sac Bee! I don't recognize that byline, but I used to sit right by all the food writers, and I'm just now realizing that when I listen to The Splendid Table I picture one of those writers' faces. This writer I'm thinking of - she was this middle-aged lady who had a smile that took up half her face, and you could tell she couldn't believe her luck that she got to write about FOOD all day every day.

Ahem. Memory lane, apparently!

On There Is No Good Reason for SNL Not to Cast a Black Female Comedian

I recently discovered Eudora Peterson's YouTube channel and since then have been wishing some place like SNL would hire her.

On Lord I Lift Your Camp On High

@Dancercise No but we had a whole thing, weirdly, to "Lean on Me." (Clearly I have a lot of memories about all of this and no place to share.)

On Lord I Lift Your Camp On High

Oh MY GOD what have you done AHP

(True story, at MY Christian camp, if you said the phrase, "Oh my god," there was a counselor who'd immediately snap back, "That's exactly who you should be talking to right now.

He would also say, if - HEAVENS - he caught you holding a boy's hand, "You should be holding hands with Jesus!"

The camp was too small to separate boys and girls, btw.)

On The Books of Our Childhood Summers

Haha. I read this with one tab open to my library's request page. I'm so glad to still be getting good book recs even after Nicole Cliffe's departure!

(And I actually just re-read "Harriet the Spy" this weekend!)

On Why I'll Miss Bunheads: Because I'm a Mess, Too

Making my THIRD comment on this post because I am a weirdo, but you guys who are missing "Bunheads" - search for the show's title on Spotify and you'll find this cool cobbled together soundtrack someone put together. It is really making my afternoon.
