On Assumptions

I'm ashamed to say that I have actually yelled at my mother for calling me at work in the middle of the day. I just assume my grandfather's dead or my brother was hit by a car while on his bike.

On Ask a Clean Person: Tackling a Major Clean-up, Part One

THANK YOU! Just. Thank you. I am not (too) ashamed to admit that I am currently in a very similar situation and almost shed a tear last night when I walked into my apartment and saw what a travesty it is.

On Ask a Clean Person: Laundry Basics

@Lorange I have it from some very reliable sources (the wardrobe goddesses at the theatre where I work) that vodka sprayed on smelly fabrics work wonders. It's a terrible waste, is all.

On Ask a Clean Person: Toilets, Ovens, and the Importance of Rubber Gloves

I hate doing dishes. It makes me so angry. The only way I don't leave it for days (yes, I'm disgusting, whatever, okay? A few dirty dishes in the sink is going to kill exactly no one) is to do as many dishes as the drying rack will hold and then just walk away. Even if there's still half a counter full of nasty, disgusting dishes, walk away. Come back in an hour (after wine and calming excercises because OMG SO ANGRY THAT I HAVE TO DO DISHES), put the (now dry) clean dishes away and do it again. I have a dish wand (Scotch, I think? Dish soap in the handle, sponge on the end), which makes it a lot easier.
