More daft puns than Daft Punk
I thought this was going to be about the perfect place to hide my Monet, so I was confused!
Then I stared at the screen for a while until there were no thoughts left.
@j-i-a I am DYINNGGG to read Prophecy by Ellen Oh. How is there not more fantasy based on Asian/other non-Western mythology??
On the topic of Ellens, Ellen Raskin was my favorite in middle school. The Westing Game is great, obv, but her other books were WAY weirder. Figgs & Phantoms is about art and the afterlife and it is SO weird and heartfelt.
Also E.L. Konigsburg. Again, she's known for one great book but she wrote tons of other good ones. I like her historical books: A Proud Taste for Scarlet & Miniver and The Second Mrs. Gioconda.
You could do anything with the rest of these and I would forgive you, because Sam & Joanna are perfect and deserve to be happy together for their ENTIRE LIFETIMES.
@j-i-a Yes! I was imagining it in the voice of Mets announcer Howie Rose.
This sent chills down my spine!
Okay, I was for real trying to figure out how to get more wear out of the little silver sequin dress I bought for Halloween last year, and thought the answer might be a button-down shirt underneath. But a sweatshirt?? Go home, Ms. Wintour, you're drunk.
@RubeksCube hee, handtasche is "handbag" in German, and "handbag" is another word for an old lady purse*

I take a D + calcium supplement daily to stave off osteoporosis and the winter blues, and I use a whey protein supplement after I lift weights. Whoo, building muscle!
I also drink ginger tea or amaro after a heavy meal, partly to help with digestion, but mostly because they're delicious.
@garli Maybe a biochemist can answer that question fully. I'm not one, but I do know that vitamin D helps your body absorb calcium and magnesium. Few foods have significant levels of vitamin D, so if you don't get out in the sun much, a D supplement is helpful.
On a different note, if healthy, unprocessed foods high in vitamins and minerals have the unfortunate side effect of making you shit your brains out, you're probably not getting the nutrients you need from them! If you're on an IBD-friendly diet of, like, oatmeal, chicken breast and avocados, a multivitamin is useful.
To me you are perfect
