On The Health Care Pie

@Rock and Roll Ken Doll But you *are* paying for it! Through the sweat of your brow and the constraint on your time (aka, "job"). So don't worry, bro.

@all Yep. Every time I have picked up birth control in the last year, I have said "Thanks Obama!" incredibly cheerfully as the pharmacist hands over my meds.

Heh. Sorry. I had to. You said "boobs".

I may have lost my baby teeth, but when it comes to boobs, I will never lose my adolescent brain.

ROCK CLIMBING.

No, guy/girl on OKC. I do not ever want to go rock-climbing with you. Stop making this into the yoga of the 2010s.

On Boy-Crazy But Curious, Dating While Disabled, and Introducing Parents to Your "New Norm"

@paddlepickle But I don't think that AQC was saying that "boy-crazy" is a bad thing!

I think that she was just saying that society tends to reserve that term for younger women. The term has a light-hearted, innocent, and fairly sanitized feel to it that I think many people are loathe to apply to women out of their teens. I think once a woman hits an age where she's obviously old enough to be desirous of mutual loinly tingles and sexy hair-pulling, people stop viewing her desires indulgently and start labeling them negatively. I think AQC was noting this common cultural trend, not ascribing to it.

On Boy-Crazy But Curious, Dating While Disabled, and Introducing Parents to Your "New Norm"

@faustbanana I think there's some pressure to do so within the queer community because in a lot of places (all? the places?) the queer community is smaller than the straight one. So you're very likely to still be moving in the same circles, know the same people, and be fishing from the same dating pool.

That's not always true, but I think that's a good part of why queer folks might feel that way.
