On Options on Ice
@Nutmeg I did it in Chicago and it was around $500. You can do it yourself - go to the legal aid website and they teach you how to fill out the forms yourself. You'll have to bring the other person with you to file the forms and have the interview with the judge, but then you get a phone call 2 weeks later to pay the money to get the decree and it's done. It's a lot of forms and I brought 5 copies of each, but it's relatively painless compared to the emotional hurt of realizing it's just over.

On The Downton Abbey Fashion Whistle
If you're in NOLA - come watch Season 2 w/ us at Lost Love. Maybe I'm a partner in the bar. And maybe at the first NOLA pinup we started talking Downton. And at the second pinup I was told that Season 2 needed to be shown. Look what pinups can do! Not to mention, I get to show Masterpiece in a bar. Check that one off the list.

On Karaoke Failures
@MousesHouse Uh, if there is too much wine consumed - I'm thinking a stumble over to Kajun's just. might. happen.

On Fashion Month for Busy and/or Lazy People
Lanvin to the top 5! The dreamy/fierce combination felt so real. I've never wanted a snake dress so much.

On The First January Jones
I sold her a shirt once. No attitude, knew what she wanted and just lovely. I love that she's keeping the baby daddy a secret (though terribly intrigued!).

On Everyone Has HPV, Pretty Much
@Spicy Bubbles Do it if you can, especially if you're hanging around some olders/youngers/work in healthcare.
Sally (that's my grandma) got to come home when she was 10, was the only person in her family to go to high school, hung out with Jane Addams at the Hull House, was a model at boat shows (?!), worked as a bookkeeper, had 4 boys, played cards 3x/week and lived to 93. She was magic.

On Everyone Has HPV, Pretty Much
It pains me to say this, but I don't care if Rick Perry got money to immunize girls. God knows how much money we've given people for erectile dysfunction, et al. Do it. Corrupt everything to save girls lives, they're worth it.
My grandmother had to live in an orphanage for 4 years because her father died in the 1918 flu epidemic. Her mom couldn't afford a place for 5 kids and the nuns took her in so she could be fed and clothed. Every single time someone gets vaccine/flu shot crazy I think of her.

On Being Generally Obsessed With Louis C.K.
My boyfriend may be growing weary of my C.K. obsession. He keeps on looking at me funny when I get anxious about not being home in time for the first run of the new episodes. Because he knows that I'll be watching, right? Otoh, I had a dirty dream about Anthony Bourdain last week so who knows where my head is at lately.

On 'Pinners Unite for Good!
Specific to my NOLA hood:
1) The Sula Foundation - provides low cost vaccinations, training and fixing to pit bull type dogs (over 60% of ALL animals left behind after the storm were pits).
2) Women With A Vision - works with underserved/minority women to provide health care and legal care (their ED was the Queen of Krewe du Vieux this year and she got the 'crimes against nature' law repealed!).
3) NOAIDS Task Force.
4) Silence Is Violence.
5) Roots of Music (!!!) provides after school tutoring and a meal and is a marching band for elementary - middle school kids throughout the city. They just got invited to the Rose Bowl.
