We had a friend who has since passed away who would order unsweetened tea and a glass of ice, with the object of attaining the perfect glass of sweetened iced tea. He was a retired chemist and he could take as long as 20 minutes with tea, sugar, ice and lemon until everything was satisfactory. He'd drink a quarter of the glass and then the waitress would come over and top off his glass from the pitcher before he could stop her. He would fume every time. "I . . . Just . . . Had . . . That . . . Titrated!"
