I can't be the only one hoping the boyfriend from Call Your Girlfriend and the jerk from all of Adele's songs are the same guy. CELEBRITY FIGHT CLUB!
There are Black people in a Whit Stillman movie! What is happening?
@applestoapples LOL! He didn't make Back at One! I'm the worst. I think I'm just mad at R&B in general.
I've taken umbrage with Carl Thomas' lyrics for years. He had this to say in his debut song:
"she cannot be with me
She chose to stay, at home
So they could be a family
For the children
But what about me?"
So forget that the woman he's seeing is married with kids.
WHAT OF CARL THOMAS' DESIRES???
And then this from "Back at One" a few years later. These are supposed to be steps:
"One, you're like a dream come true
Two, just wanna be with you
Three, girl it's plain to see
That you're the only one for me
And four, repeat steps one to three
Five, make you fall in love with me
If ever I believe my work is done
Then I'll start back at one"
Are those even steps? No.
Badly done, Carl Thomas. Badly done.
I've been downloading/streaming season two of Downton Abbey from people's Tumblrs. It's the best! The Christmas Special left me a COMPLETE WRECK.
And I'm rewatching it on PBS of course.
Uh oh. This just seemed like a documentary to me. My fandoms are PRETTY HARDCORE.
This is how I got into Community last year, this is how I discovered Misfits, Downton Abbey, and probably 6 more shows. I watched Game of Thrones in real time, but did I also MARATHON it online and then track the Tumblr tag so that whenever there was a new development, I'd know right away? Yes!
Portlandia just GETS IT!
THANK YOU, EDITH!
This is great... and her hair looks literally exactly the same as mine.
I'm the runt in a family of relatively tall girls too! I'm 5'6.5" (the half counts!) and most of the other women in my family have at least three inches on me. My sister is 5'10, my mom and aunt are both 5'9" - and my brother and dad are both tall.
In the rest of the world, I'm very average height. Depending on the company - even a bit tall among other women. But back at home, I'm the shorty. I can't reach anything at my mom's house or my sister's place. TOP SHELVES FOR EVERYTHING.
I realized some time during my teen years that the top of my bookshelf was filthy, but never noticed until my brother told me. And then I realized that every member of my family could see this layer of dust and... who even knows... on top of my bookshelf and just never told me.
The parents' faces after that kiss (???) say it all: "We should not have raised them this way."
Gotta Catch 'Em All! Gotta Catch 'Em All!
