On My Nom de Peen: The Surprising Effects of a Male Pseudonym

@Pammisback I think it has to do with gendered ideas about expertise, such that even when certain activities are dominated by women, we are fare more willing to accept a man as "the best" or a world-renowned expert in that activity. Several examples: Cooking duties in the home fall on women, but most famous chefs are men. Elementary school teachers are mostly women, but college professors are mostly men. Nurses are women, doctors are men. Yoga class is 99% female, but the famous yoga gurus are all men (who somehow maintain their status as morally/spiritually enlightened despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary). Little girls love to draw and paint while little boys play outside, but men dominate the art world. Clothing and shopping is considered very female in nature, yet many top fashion designers are men (same with famous hairstylists and makeup artists). It's kind of depressing.

On "It was amazing* being able to wear yoga pants without underwear"

I hardly ever wash tights, so I always wear underwear with them. Plus, sometimes I'm wearing them with a really short skirt, and they're pretty see-through. I do hot yoga, so I wash my yoga pants after every wear. I usually wear underwear but not always.
