@Terry profit motive duh
@Kalorama_Kat ugh fine, I'll look elsewhere for my IS BEYONCE A GOOD ENOUGH TERRORIST fix
After reading this headline, I am stunned this is not about bell hooks calling Beyonce an anti-feminist terrorist at the "Are You Still a Slave?" panel. STUNNED. This is the perfect headline for that article!
Jia, what's the word in Ann Arbor? May was always so nice with all the undergrads gone.
“By the time Blockbuster got around to offering its own online subscription service, in 2004, it was too late.” In this example, commas and sex have a lot in common for me too, notably that both are clustered around 2004.
@stonefruit Depends on your relation to the person and how nasty the comments. Do you think this person wanted you to see these or are they just cavalier about shit talking?
@sammysayalot Agreed, thanks Jia. I spent some time in Ann Arbor and found it, like Boston, to be extremely self-segregated and, like Boston, full of liberal whites who were concerned about racial prejudice and their own privilege, but had virtually no friends or colleagues of color. There exists a tacit frustration in this dynamic; these white people, well-meaning to a fault, WANTED friends and colleagues of color and were very self-conscious about their lack thereof. Meanwhile, a lot of white Michigan natives who are otherwise progressive liberals, have come to loathe affirmative action in the same way they've come to loathe the UAW. Michigan is a bizarre state.
Putting the plants outside!
Do people like Sarah Silverman? I thought her show was great.
I've been in this Olympics/Ukraine haze for days. Has anything happened outside of Eastern Europe lately?
