New images have appeared all over town, bearing the image of a turkey sandwich and the single world “harlot" in large block letters. These billboards have caused some confusion, both due to their ambiguous message, and to the fact that the entire structure of the billboards materialized overnight. - Welcome to Night Vale
@Pompis Hopping in this thread just to see if anyone comes up with a great answer for the object-lust, because boy howdy, do I have it.
@Madeline Shoes YES! I love her books and am planning to reward myself with rereading all of them once I finish this semester. I think The Likeness is actually my favorite as well, just because of that lingering sadness/wistfulness (ugh, that whole last longing paragraph!), whereas In the Woods would be my favorite(& is definitely the creepiest of them all for me), but I'm too frustrated by the unanswered question(s?).
Oh, yay, I love creepy books. Two of my favorites are In the Woods (Tana French - Irish murder mystery) and The Little Stranger (Sarah Waters - period ghost story), neither of which I have at my apartment right now, of course, now that I want to reread them both!
@zamboni it's sadly a "drinking alcohol on these anti-depressants makes my brain suck up even more of the anti-depressants/makes the anti-depressants even more effective, so i feel faint/sick/sweat all over, even the bottoms of my feet/am useless for hours afterwards". i tried once, with 1/4 of a bottle of beer, and it was a no-go. fortunately, this evening i had a couple capfuls of my bf's maker's mark in my coke (just enough to get the smell of it, if not much of the taste) and that seems to have been okay. so ..teeny, teeny tiny sips, i might be able to get away with, which, yay!!! i miss getting drunk, but i miss the flavor/smell more, so i'll take whatever i can get.
jesus i miss whisky so much. i favored the very peaty, smoky ones (talisker and laphroaig were my favorites). really hoping at some point i can go off anti-depressants so i can have a drink again.
I am having the worst craving for Doritos and hot cheesy spinach dip now.
The last one also applies to news you're keeping from yourself, although I have been eating breakfast (white toast, gently scrambled egg, sliced & very browned sausages, sriracha, and a big glass of milk) for most meals instead of cake. Maybe now is the time to transition to cake. I think Mom has some in the fridge.
@rosaline Tastybites are pretty great for camping. My ex and I took, at various points, the jaipur vegetables, the chana masala, the kashmir spinach, the madras lentils, and the aloo palak to Big Sur with us, and with some boil in a bag rice and beer, they make for a really great campfire-side dinner.
@hallelujah saaaaaaaaaaaaaaame <3 <3 <3 <3 to all of you
