On Kate Nash, "Girl Gang"

Love this - also from South London, I got pretty sick of the 'bitt-ah' impressions.
I randomly wandered into a tent at Bestival last year to hear her doing amazing riot girrl. It was awesome.

On War Horse: An Illustrated Review

OK, can we start the Benedict Cumberbatch discussion please? Because I'm from London and last nights Hound of the Baskervilles with BC, Martin Freeman and Russell Tovey was about as woof as it gets.
And I mean 'woof' in the 'full of really hot, intelligent amazing actor guys' sense of the word.

On Hairpin Costume Drama Club: Wives and Daughters

@Kara Reynolds Oh you will LOVE it. So inappropriately hot. Excellent Charles Audley action as well.

On Hairpin Costume Drama Club: Wives and Daughters

@Kara Reynolds I know :(
Aw, yay for Babs! Have you read Regency Buck? I love the change in Judith between the two (spoilers).

On Hairpin Costume Drama Club: Wives and Daughters

@Kara Reynolds Oh oh oh. We need to talk about Georgette Heyer. Yay for Georgette Heyer.
Although reread the Grand Sophy recently - I'd totally not noticed the massive anti-semitic section in the middle.

On Why Can't We Read the New Alan Hollinghurst Novel Yet?

I was at the same party as Alan Hollinghurst once. Actual stood one metre away from him same. Not enough people appreciate this high point in my life.
Alain de Botton was also present. I stood on his foot. Low point of my life.

On Mean Ladies to Read About

Mary is def worse. She's all boo-hoo I have such a hard life with my lovely husband who puts up with everything. Whereas Elizabeth is just convinced she's a Special Girl, and that every guy is desperately in love with her. She's going to end up sad and lonely. Mary's going to be terrorising everyone and making her daughters-in-law MISERABLE.

I may have been thinking about this too much.

On Mean Ladies to Read About

Carrie, I need you to write about Persuasion. I know you'll do justice to the best book everrrr.

These comments have forced me to download about 10 books I keep meaning to get round to.

So what Trollope should I start with? Should I start and all? Should I insert the obligatory Joanna here? No? OK.
