I'm a pop culture writer for Popdose.com.
Thanks, guys! A year ago, I never would've pictured myself doing what I'm doing now. I went from telling kids why they should go to college to writing and editing copy about high fashion. And somewhere in the middle there, I did stand-up comedy. It's crazy. Now, if other areas of my life would come together so nicely.
Eleven months ago, I lost the job I'd had for 8 1/2 years in education marketing (my company closed). I spent 7 months unemployed and worried about what the future hold. Four months ago, I was hired to work as an editorial assistant for a fashion retailer and now I get to write about designer shoes and handbags and I love it. I haven't been this happy in a job in a long, long time. I just needed to put that out there.
Also amazing is Cristina's cover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AybvLztacFM
Just wanted to make sure you all knew that Doritos dipped in cottage cheese is an amazing snack. It sounds disgusting, I know. But trust me: it's surprisingly delicious.
I learned tonight that all I need to do to get a cute boy -- who would never normally talk to me -- to talk me is to tell him I do stand-up comedy.
I plan to relax after a very successful first week at my new job that I love. It will be splendid, regardless of what I wind up doing.
Thanks, you guys!
Today's my birthday and I start my new job on Monday. Things are finally going really, really great.
You guys! I got a job! And it's a job I really, really wanted! I start in 9 days and I cannot wait.
A friend of mine has a cat that looks exactly like Church. He's mischevious and likes to hide and jump out at you. Last summer, he had some kind of eye infection that made his eyes all cloudy, and he looked even more like post-resurrection Church. So I just started calling him Church, which my friend hates because that movie also scared the shit out of her.
