On On Fear as the Mind-Killer

@Nicole Cliffe Edith and Jane are both intimidatingly good looking. This fact has screwed with my self-confidence once or twice and I just read this site, not write for it. I hope the fact that I'm more jealous of everyone's talent and humor a sign of not being too too too self-loathing.

On Ann Friedman's Best Things of 2012

@Vitesse Fantastic! I moving from New Hampshire and am getting set up with an apartment. I'm staying downtown; is there any place you prefer?

On Ann Friedman's Best Things of 2012

I am hijacking this to ask if anyone wants to randomly meet up in Austin tonight (or tomorrow or Thursday night) First night here, by myself, and I'm a little intimidated. But I like margaritas and Tex Mex!

On And the Best Razors Are...

In/Re razors? I like to buy the men's version of stuff. It tends to be cheaper, better, and less pink.

On What Kind of Flirt Are You?

I never figured out how to flirt. I either come across as frigid, or worse, a sweaty silent 15-year-old. I think it's because I can't talk small. My friends have called me the Grim Reaper of Sexual Tension.

Good flirters, what's the secret? Eye contact or something?

On Friday Open Thread

I'm leaving most of The Things behind to go to New Zealand and work on a farm around the 19th. I, living in a swing state, must vote Obama, even though the scary drone strikes make me twitchy. That's all.

Moral ambiguity! Harder than moral certainty.
