Haha, this has been weighing on my mind recently because I keep being overly concerned about being hit by a car while I ride my bike. I keep thinking "okay, my parents are obvious in my phone but they are 2 hours away so I'd probably want someone to call my boyfriend too because he can be at the hospital faster but he's deaf so how do I let the random stranger who picks up my phone know they will need to text him, not call???"
I haven't come up with a good answer but I also think it's something that should probably be pretty far down on my list of things to be worrying about at the moment.
Dang! I wish I had the problem of the first letter writer. I live in a really awesome place but I have friends visit maybe once a year and usually they don't want to do more than a day trip. I WANT PEOPLE TO VISIT ME FOR A WEEKEND SO I CAN SHOW OFF THIS AWESOME PLACE!
What are everyone's thoughts on self-diagnosis when it comes to this sort of thing? I was reading something the other day where someone was making a statement about how they felt self-diagnosis is totally acceptable when a doctor can't diagnose you and should be considered just as legitimate as an official diagnosis.
It lead me down a tumblr-hole of "spoonies" and self-diagnosed people and I know it's tumblr so you have to kind of side-eye a lot of stuff on there but I wasn't sure how I felt about it.
@sophia_h @sophia_h Haha, I typically don't have a problem with Phil Collins, it's definitely a guilty pleasure. But that one song...ug.
My favorite quote by a flatmate I had while living in Scotland was "There is no such thing as good American music....except for Phil Collins".
I just walked away and didn't say anything.
@PennyCentury Guster and Ben Folds are considered jam bands?? No way.
@JG3 Oh man, that Shaggy song. I haven't thought about that in forever. I'm with you on that one. My mom always said he sounded like he "had a potato in his throat".
Also Phil Collins "Sussudio"
@coolallison Haha, I saw them in concert 2 years ago just because they came to the theater that is literally across the street from my apartment. They were great!
Simon & Garfunkel - "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)"
Hate. I have so much hate for that song.
Although now I'm thinking about a Phish cover of The 59th Street Bridge Song and I think that would compel me to jump off the closest bridge.
