On Truly Upsetting
Let's all share the first time we heard the Beastie Boys! I'll start.
I was in my best friend's house, it was 7th grade and she said "I just heard this hilarious song, you've gotta listen." It was "Brass Monkey," and it wasn't N*SYNC, Backstreet Boys or Hanson, so it was super startling and ended up being very delightful. That was our jam that summer. So thanks, Adam.

On 'Pinners Unite for Good!
This isn't really a "charity," but my best man friend is currently in the Peace Corps and he's serving in Armenia. He and the other Armenia volunteers are doing a border-to-border (Georgia to Iran) trip ON FOOT spreading general health and wellness information as well as environmental info (because this is a resource little to no youngsters have in Armenia). You can read more about it and donate here:

Obviously, even $5 goes a long way for them. I know it's kind of abstract and you won't directly see the results but I can assure you it's a major help over there.

On Breaking Up Is Hard to Do With Dignity
@City_Dater "Don't forget to eat once in a while" sounds like nice advice, though I feel like "Don't forget to stop eating once in a while" seems more applicable to...some...of...us.

On The Patient is Non-Compliant
@themmases Yeah, that's my situation too! And I am also in Chicago. I had gotten my pelvic there a year previous and they giggled when I said I thought I needed one again. Only if you have an abnormal pap, I guess.

On The Patient is Non-Compliant
Because I am so broke and go to Planned Parenthood, I know for a fact that you don't have to do this. For example, last time I went in, they asked me how I was feeling about it and I said "good" and they renewed my prescription. The end!

On The Best Time I Took My Baby to the Emergency Room
Even though I knew everything was OK, I held my breath the entire time!
Seriously, what a beautiful baby.

On Alabama Shakes' "Hold On" Video
I urge you all to see them if they come to your city/town/village. You will not regret it, and tickets to see them in an arena near you in five years will probably be a bit steeper.

On 17 Bands to See at SXSW, or Here, Now, on YouTube
I usually use these music aggregating posts as a gauge of how in-tune and cool I am, and the answer is invariably "not very."

On Leo Wyndham, "Veins"
Oh, so we can't just let it sound nice?
