On New Friends, Surprise Babies, and the "Rare Phenomenon"

I don't like making out. Kissing a few times is okay, but making out... Maybe it reminds me too much of being a teenager? Or maybe I'd like it with a phenomenal kisser.

On The Four White Girls of the Apocalypse

@sunshinefiasco Easier solution: Change the title so it doesn't seem like the show is supposed to represent all young women.

On Asking the Tough Questions

I really wanted to hear the judgment and reasoning on Stuff White People LIke and was disappointed that he hedged.

On Asking the Tough Questions

@dustwindbun Are you saying you should kill yourself because you're a white girl, or because you think that cow joke is funny?

On Asking the Tough Questions

@thebestjasmine When you say "we," do you mean all non-white people? I'm not being snide -- I literally want to know. At first I assumed you meant black people came up with the term, and now I want to be sure.

On Asking the Tough Questions

@NeverOddOrEven For what it's worth, I (latina) don't ever refer to myself as a Person of Color. ( And my husband (not white) doesn't call himself that, and actually, I don't know any non-white person who does.) I agree that it sounds close to "colored person" and I also think it's just weird, because white people aren't literally without color.

I feel like, if you need to point out that a person is an ethnicity that's not white, you can just say "non-white person" or (people-first style) "person who's not white."

@insouciantlover I literally don't know if you're talking about Jezebel or Feministing. :(

On Man Secrets and "What About That Other Thing I Was Doing?"

LW1 and then all the angry comments about it seemed like an en masse reenactment of the stale jokes about women asking if they look fat in this dress, and men whining that there's no safe way to answer.
