@LeafySeaDragon Interesting. Was your car still registered in AZ? Maybe that was the difference. Because I definitely looked it up in CA legal code after getting the ticket. The tints were sooooo light!

As someone who recently got pulled over for tinted windows, I can tell you that any amount of tint (even the super light ones) on the front (driver's and passenger's) windows are illegal in the state of California (not sure where you are, but check the laws!). The cop was nice enough (cough, cough) to give me a fix-it ticket, but that still involved paying $35 to get them removed (though you can do it yourself, I guess), going to CHP to prove that I'd had it fixed, then going to the courthouse to stand in line for two hours to pay the fee to get it expunged ($25).
That said, the lady that worked the reception at the de-tinting place said she's had tints on her car for 30 years and hasn't been pulled over for it.

@MoonBat Apropos of almost nothing, I once catered a party that Anthony Hopkins attended. He was wearing sequined snakeskin-patterned loafers. They were magnificent!
Also, he drank a number of Diet Cokes and was very nice.
