On Who We Tell When We Watch Our Parents Die

Eliza, thank you so much for this essay. My dad just passed on February 15th and I've been looking everywhere for 'real talk' on what I'm going through. Like you were with Kilmartin's tweets I found myself nodding along as I read- it was almost as if I wrote the piece. I wish none of us were in this club, but I'm so grateful to you for helping me put words to my experience. Next time someone asks me how I'm coping I'll just send them to this post.

On Who We Tell When We Watch Our Parents Die

@lowskye I wish I could give you suggestions- my dad passed on February 15 and it's just been one long month trying to figure out if what I'm feeling is 'right' or 'normal.' I'm sorry you have to go through this.

On How Often Do You Think About Ghosts?

@Jana: I'm always trying to overcome my irrational paranormal fears by confronting them, though it actually makes them worse. I will be watching these movies, however!

I had to go home sick- mentally sick- the day we discussed "A Rose for Emily" in class.

On How Often Do You Think About Ghosts?

I thought I was the only one who had lasting trauma from The Yellow Wallpaper?!? I secretly cried so many times in English classes throughout high school...
