On What I Learned From Reading The Economist

@Mariajoseh
Sorry for being so simplistically snarky. That was one item I identified with. I agree that graphs are helpful a lot of the time, but I've also been frustrated many times with questioning whether some graphs included in articles are simply there to lend credibility/believability to an idea ("here's a picture that doesn't really prove my point, but I'll pretend it does") or I'm just not getting it.

On What I Learned From Reading The Economist

@Mariajoseh
Hi, my name is NeenerNeener. I am generally good at math and like to think of myself as not stupid, but also sometimes have trouble with graphs.

@abetterfate There is a tea house in Georgetown that I will definitely visit again when I make my way down there. A quick internet search makes me think it's called Ching Ching Cha.

On Baby Swaddling for Evil and Profit

@noodge
Yeah, depending on my mood, I might start to freak out if I get tangled in blankets. No swaddling for me.

On Yo, Is This Racist?

@thebestjasmine
Would ethnist be okay?
I realize it's not the same today, but that phrase was born in a time where Irish were heavily discriminated against, especially here in Boston - it wasn't just due to a reputation of drinking/rowdy behavior.

On "How I Stopped Eating Food"

@olivia
I am this lazy and have wanted the same pill.
I'd still like to occassionally eat for pleasure, but not because I need to.
