On How Do You Solve a Book Cover Like Lolita?

@franceschances Don't bother. If you think you're going to be disturbed by it, you're going to be disturbed by it. And then you're going to be disturbed by the fact that so many people read and love it. At least that's what happened to me.

On Best D.C. Metro Stations to Name a Baby After

If I have a kid on the NYC subway I'm naming him or her Hoyt-Schermerhorn, regardless of what station I am in.

We actually have very few subway stations here that aren't just street names. The few that exist would make godawful baby names: Woodlawn, Grand Army Plaza, Aqueduct Racetrack (actually that last one might be awesome).

On Thank You So Much For Being With Me Tonight to Celebrate My Twenty-Five-And-Twelve-Month Birthday

@Lady Humungus Haha, nope. Just make up your own rules!

On Thank You So Much For Being With Me Tonight to Celebrate My Twenty-Five-And-Twelve-Month Birthday

I am 26 (and some large amount of months) and still spend Friday nights playing Settlers of Catan, Drinking Rules Edition, in my apartment. Sophisticated dinners with friends you haven't seen in soooo long are overrated. Why would I want to have polite conversation with someone I haven't seen in 14 months when I could be shamelessly stealing the longest road from the same people I see every week?

On The Arm's Length Pie

@fondue with cheddar My mom once mentioned that if I'm ever kidnapped she'll be able to identify me by the mole on my belly button. In case, like, the kidnappers send the police a picture of me with a bag over my head but no shirt on, I guess?

On The Arm's Length Pie

@hallelujah Ugh, the double-chin effect. I cringe every time someone shorter than me (most people unfortunately) is handed the camera. It doesn't make the pictures come out any better.

On The 10 Minutes Away Pie

25% checking email on phone
25% checking email on phone again
25% staring at home screen of phone
25% putting phone away, then taking it out to check the time, then automatically checking email again without thinking

On A Woman's Right to Booze

So good! I'm totally making up a cocktail worthy of the name Vermouth Bader Ginsburg right now. I'm thinking... tiny but strong and sharp.

On The Spinsterhood Pie

@angelan Yeah, they don't love bedspreads covered in flowers, weirdly. My apartment would be so much prettier if I lived alone.

On The Evolution of Miss Scarlet

@jaimebee tho I had the Clue spinoff Clue: The Great Museum Caper. Same characters but one person played a thief who got to run around being invisible and stealing art. I played the thief a lot.

Otherwise we mostly played '92 clue with short-haired Asian Miss Scarlet, although I've also played with the '49 version.
