@sleepypeaches And neither does the writer.

On The Four White Girls of the Apocalypse

@sleepypeaches Yeah, but the other characters weren't there when Dunham character was acting stupid with guys, yet those issues got discussed and she got told later on. No such thing happened with this scene.

On The Four White Girls of the Apocalypse

@sleepypeaches No way. Where was the scene where other characters give her a slap in the face for that, just like they give each other for when they are being naive about sex, love, and office work?

On The Four White Girls of the Apocalypse

@laurel Because unlike all those other shows, this one preposterously has the claim that it's "speaking for us" as it's main hook!

On The Four White Girls of the Apocalypse

@Niko Bellic Oh, and then she includes a couple of immigrants from Caribbean only so that they can serve as an audience for a British fucking tourist while she "whitesplains" to them how to make hard living in New York City. For fuck's sake!

On The Four White Girls of the Apocalypse

@Inkcrafter The problem is not that she didn't write about black people, the problem is that she wrote about white people in place of "people in general". It would be fine if she referred to "a voice of a generation of privileged white trustafarians", but she felt free to leave it at "a voice of a generation", and she is now defending with it with "yeah, but I really meant only a subset of it". Well, excuse me for concluding that if you can't say what you mean, you are one shitty writer.

On Where (My) Girls At?

@Emmanuelle Cunt I'm not sure how many non-white people live in Greenpoint, but it has to be funny how the show set in *the* Polish hood of NYC does not feature any Polish people (and nobody besides this fellow Slav of theirs will even notice). But hey, there's an Anglo chick from UK wearing a hat! So diverse!

On Lifetime Movie Titles: Real or Fake?

There is a Palme d'Or winning film about a baby for sale, but the incompetent Belgian film makers failed to encapsulate it so cleverly in the title.
