@apples and oranges yes, sorry I didn't have the time to explain fully. Odd that the reporter felt that was relevant, as if it established his credibility or something. "Takes one to know one" ? What color was Terry Durham? Or... the woman who gave her name as Terry Durham.
A woman who gave her name as Terry Durham said that as she and co-workers were evacuating, she saw a man down the hall raise a rifle and fire toward them, hitting a wall. “He was tall. He appeared to be dark-skinned,” she said.
“He was a tall black guy,” said her co-worker, Todd Brundage, who is black. “He didn’t say a word.”
this is very awkward
I really liked how enthusiastic Natalie is about this. It made me smile.
@Spice&Snails&PuppyDogTails I've been trying to decide whether to get my mom a subscription to Birchbox (monthly high end makeup samples mailed to you), and today really sealed the deal.
@MilesofMountains I'm trying to figure out how to apologize to her today! In some veiled, thoughtful way.
I've tried, two or three times, to email or text my mom to apologize for being such a bitch. The year between college and law school was rough for me -- breaking up with a boy, moving back after school, having a serious issue with disordered eating (context, not excuses!) -- and I took it out on her, A LOT. I emailed her once, about three months ago, apologizing for being so mean when I was unhappy and taking it out on her, and her response was "I love you. I only want you to be happy always, darling XOXO", which is now (clearly) burned in my brain and makes my face crumple into that ugly pre-crying thing.
@lora.bee I loved this story-telling. I wished there were at least four more paragraphs.
@itiresias This had me giggling in the office. I'm definitely concerned about itching, and also would prefer not having a constant reminder of impending sex. Not because I'm not looking forward to it, but because there are things to do. Thank you!
@Absurd Bird Thank you so much for your fantastic advice! I'm much older than the Approximate Expected Age At Which One Loses Her Virginity, and don't really have the opportunity to have these conversations with girlfriends beyond my very best. It is much appreciated.
@Nicole Cliffe I am excited too! and giddy-excited, not dreading-excited. I might jump off of the bed and onto the floor when he goes into the bathroom to do push-ups, like men do in rom coms. Why do they do that?
