On The Best Time I Took My Baby to the Emergency Room
@Ophelia That was such a powerfully devastating read. I can't even begin to comprehend the depths of emotion the people involved must have felt...I literally cannot fathom it.

On [Maybe] Good Books That Defined You
I credit/blame Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH for my extreme (over?)empathy for all animals ever. (Still upset over LW3 yesterday? OH YEAH.)

@klaus Totally agreed. Thoughts on Taylor Kitsch pre FNL: basic dudebro. Post FNL: sure yes I will go see John Carter.

On Really Good Books About Real People: Part Three
@FashionablyEvil Ha! I'm a librarian and we have a few copies in our system, but not at the branch I work at. I just put it on hold and am now envisioning my coworkers (we only have a few branches and all know each other) pulling it for me and thinking '?!??!!'.

On The History of the Cellphone
@heb I tended to be a mostly low key, cool with generics teenager, but I HAD to have the pink RAZR. And the gold.

Ooh! Whale song story: one time I went snorkeling in Hawaii and you could hear them underwater! Amazing.

On Mini Ask a Lady: Teenage Tattoos
I have a Dude Where's my Car inspired tattoo (with a best friend) that I still think is hilllllarious, so I am probably not the best person to respond here.
That said, if you're going to do it, think about going with an easily-covered spot (yes, agreed, people will ask, forever and ever). I have some text on my ribs, and no one sees it unless I'm getting naked with them and I'm pretty much always ok talking with those people.

@The Lady of Shalott Hiiii, twin. (Tons of tattoos, grabbing a (lol 'a') beer with lunch next hour, and working at a library.)

Nicole, you're brave for putting this out there (and for saying Ayn Rand would be an ok [maybe] good book).
Isn't it terrifying to love something that much? One of the reasons I don't know about having kids myself is that I just don't think that I have the emotional fortitude for it.
