I had sweepy bangs over my left eye growing up (not because I was emo, because it was the 80's and I am old) and then when I was in 7th grade I got my eyes checked and had a lazy left eye, which was my bangs-covered eye. The doctor told me it was because of the bangs.
Maybe my left eye was already lazy and that's why I didn't mind having hair over it all the time? Did you ever think of that, doctor?

@Bonita Applebum eh, there's just a million things I want to go home for this summer, and all of my friends moved back from Portland to Cali, so instead of a 3.5 hour train ride to hang, it's a 17 hour train ride plus an hour in the car to see them. Also it's cold and pissing me off. I've lived here for 6 years, but each year seems to be worse.
