@Stacy Worst I agree. $65k is nothing for a family, and it's refreshing that Ireland wouldn't discount that from the dole... unlike welfare in the US, which I could go on a rant about as being inaccessible to many families in need... Besides that fact, this piece was very beautifully written and any creative nonfiction piece is bound to have some inaccuracies.

@OwlOfDerision I love KITTENMOON. So cute and sometimes so needed... like when you're out of work or out of a boyfriend, and you just want to borrow a cat!
@Beaker The whole "probiotic craze" is mainly supported by people with digestive problems who find relief with probiotic foods, myself included. Probiotic bacteria can help with diarrhea, IBS, UTIs, bacteria vaginosis, and maybe even colds. If you have adverse reactions to taking antibiotics, you should increase consumption of probiotics to maintain a healthy balance of bacteria in your gut. Say, a person with an autoimmune disorder may have to take antibiotics to treat an attack but if they suffer from stomach problems they should add more probiotics to their diet while they're taking antibiotics.
For me personally, I used to have very frequent UTIs... but as soon as I started drinking kombucha, even though I only drank kombucha regularly for like a month, I stopped having UTIs. Amazing! Everyone reacts to probiotics differently though.
Literally you should be aware of multiple definitions and connotations of a word anyways. Literally.
It means fasten your seatbelt, Dorothy, 'cause Kansas is going bye-bye.
Towards the end of the summer I would make three-way phone calls.
This takes me wayyy back... Who here used to make three-way calls? Ever had every new person on the line make a call to another person until there was five friends speaking on one phone call?
Love it when she sings "click click can't touch my d***"
